This seal is for the shaft that goes into the top gearbox on a 4 foot Tarter PTO driven 3 point tiller implement that goes on the rear of a tractor.
The seal works, and is the exact replacement of the original seal that was leaking, that I removed from the gearbox.
The seal should be size 72x35x11, just as it states in the description of the Tarter part number. But the seal that was sent to me from Tarter was size 72x35x8.
The 72x35x8 seal is working fine and I have not seen any oil leak as of yet. I believe this new replacement seal will last because it seems to be of high-quality.
When replacing oil seals in any gearbox, make sure the vent plug is not stopped up or defective, or you will blow out any new seal that’s installed!
